This is a very cleverly made game. It is one of the best tower defence games I've played, perhaps not at the same level as Gemcraft 0 for instance, but very good. It's really stylish, the graphics are great and don't lag on my old, old laptop. One thing I find is you need to find the exact right tower combination to complete a level. A reviewer before me is stuck on level 9, but I managed to complete it after figuring out the tower combination (command shells I think...). I'm stuck on level 14, if anyone wants to give me a clue...
It's challenging and well balanced... that is, assuming it's actually possible to complete it. :O
The only thing is, the story is not engaging in the least, I just click through the text boxes I get. At least you're not forced to read them or anything.
Stories aren't important, I really like this game. I want to complete it, which is more than I can say for most flash games...
I like this game but the second to last level is completely impossible... I just can't get up from the bottom level once I've got my harpoon. It's just a question of timing which is really annoying. A lot of the levels just make you think of a way to get past things, but this one is too hard. I've even done the last level which I found a lot easier. But I don't think I'll ever get to Scary Places because the second last one is so hard.
The music is really amazing though, especially the track that's on The Boundary and other levels.

This game has literally the worst wall jumping I've ever played. It doesn't save your progress, there's no pause or mute... it could be a lot better. The controls are the main let down though. Oh and it doesn't say 'loaded' at the start, just 'loading', took me a while to figure out I was supposed to click the title. It looks nice but that's about it.

This game is gash. Completely. Lets face it, it's too slow. I shouldn't have to download a simple flash game to play it properly, that's not why people come to NG. The graphics are not good, everything may look pretty, but because they run so slowly and it takes forever to change menus, activate the smite power or whatever, they ruin the game. The whole thing is too slow, if I want to build something I don't want to take a 5 minute time out from smiting things to change menus, find the thing I want to build and build it.
One meagre level up point per half hour of play is completely ridiculous. The energy regen rate is non existent, which makes it impossible to actually level up because you need to kill things with the smite power to gain exp. It's very frustrating having to wait so long for your energy to regenerate, you feel helpless, and it would be much more fun to be spending your time killing things rather than waiting to hurt them slightly. It just makes it too hard and not at all satisfying to play.
This *could* be an amazing defence game, but it needs to be a hell of a lot faster, easier, and to have more variation. 4 build slots is lame. Zero possibility of repairing the health of your base is dumb. Ultra slow rate of fire because there's no energy regen is dumb. Over complicated menus you can't read because you have to have the game on low quality is annoying. I would spend a lot of time playing this game if it was better, it's a nice idea but as it is, it's just rubbish.

Tab+enter is your friend in this game... yeah not that well made I guess. The gun was too slow, it was all just a bit dull really. It's not like I could code that though, so keep working on flash games and you could make it. Definitely needs more work though...
Good but anticlimax bug or something
It's a great game, but I got to the point where I had 4 Ionizer cannons and enough money to make 3 super soldiers, which I did, but the game ended and said victory before the enemy base was destroyed- I'd only got the soldiers to the other side. I was expecting to see the enemy base get slowly ground down by my soldiers, but it didn't happen. Really anticlimactic and frustrating, despite the fact that I still won... Weird.
Nearly good, but really annoying
This was a well put together game, but I found it got pretty boring quite quickly, and some things annoyed the hell out of me. I could barely get a hang of the controls, if the game was twisted slightly round so that up faced more directly up, left more left etc, it would have been a lot easier. Also I got to the point where I had no ammo, and so couldn't kill one of the guards, and I couldn't find any, so I just gave up. It didn't make me want to play again, maybe if the controls were better I would have, and I would have used less ammo this time round.
So apart from those infuriating little things, this game was pretty good. I just found the annoyances too much in the end.
Good graphics and all, but it's slow and really dull. The game doesn't progress fast enough, it's just the same old crap, over and over... I can't stand the one shot kills philosophy, it wastes too much time, ruins the continuity of the game and you don't have nearly enough lives! Also, the yellow bullets they shoot are hard to see over the white bit, and the restricted flying area is a pretty stupid idea. Sorry, I just found it incredibly boring, there are a million and one games just like this. If you can do graphics that good, at least try and come up with something to do them justice.
It's far too hard though, I couldn't get past the first level, I know that probably makes it more interesting for some people, but flash games shouldn't require days of dedicated practice, they're only supposed to be fun for 5 mins, and if they're too hard, they get very frustrating. It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't so damn easy to die, 2 hits and you're dead from a fucking dumpling? What the hell is that?! Also, the challenges weren't explained at all, it took me ages to figure out the second one! Also, it is very unclear as to where the edge of a platform is, it is very frustrating trying to jump onto one only to find out that the actual edge is further in.
It's alright, but it could be much more fun.
